PERDAMI INVITES ALL DELEGATES OF THE 45TH PIT PERDAMI IN YOGYAKARTA
TO TAKE PART IN THE PERDAMI PHOTO CONTEST

To participate, delegates can submit photo(s) related to three theme categories in ophthalmology describes below. Will be announced and awarded at the Welcoming Party on Thursday (7pm local time), September 24, 2020. Winners will receive prize and a certificate from the PERDAMI.

ENTRY GUIDELINES

  1. THEMES/ENTRY CATEGORIES
  • Community Ophthalmology Photography (CO) with any digital cameras (DSLR, pocket digital camera and smartphone) that describe any community ophthalmology activities including outreach program, etc.
  • Clinical Photography (C) with any digital cameras (DSLR, pocket digital camera and smartphone) and any devices or techniques such as anterior and posterior segment, slit lamp, gonioscopy, fundus photography including colour and monochromatic, angiography optical coherence tomography, etc.
  • Education (E) with any digital cameras (DSLR, pocket digital camera and smartphone) that describe any education activity in ophthalmology.
  • Code (for filename label) = CO for Community Ophthalmology, C for Clinical, and E for Education.
  1. ELIGIBILITY
  • Any registrants for the 45th PIT PERDAMI in Yogyakarta.
  •  No additional cost/registration fee needed for the photo contest (free)
  • Each contestant may submit no more than 3 photos per category.
  1. PHOTO FORMAT AND SUBMISSION
  • Photo should be taken from any kinds of digital cameras (DSLR, Pocket Camera and Smartphone)
  • Not any others editing were allowed besides the technical enhancements stated below:
    • Contrast and brightness adjustments. However, the contrast or brightness adjustments must not alter the photo-realistic elements of the photo and editing should always be in the vein of coaxing the best out of a capture rather than creating a new image. The adjustment should enhance, but not create, an illusion or effect
    • Composite (eg, fundus montage photo)
    • Cropping
  • Minimum resolution is 1200 x 1600 pixels at 300 dpi.
  • File(s) must be submitted in .png (PNG), or highest quality .jpg (JPG) format.
  • File name: Each image will be labeled as follows: contestant’s last name, code (CO, C, or E), submission number of the photo. For example: IpenkCO1.jpg for photo number 1 in community ophthalmology photography category submitted by Ipenk. If a contestant submits 2 photos in same category, the second submission should be labeled as IpenkCO2.jpg.
  • Photos should be sent via email to scientificpit@perdami.or.id with a text document of
    • Contestant’s full name
    • Affiliated Practice or Institute
    • City, Country
    • Each photo can have a title, which can be creative
  • The closing date for submitting entries to the PERDAMI Photo Contest (including favourite winners) is 23:59, August 17, 2020, Yogyakarta time (GMT+8).
  • For eligibility to compete on favourite winners, photos would be upload on PIT2020 Yogyakarta Instagram, @pitperdamijogja2020 with hashtag #konaspitjogja #perdamiphotocontest2020 #PIT45Jogja in caption.
  1. RIGHTS AND OWNERSHIP
  • The Judging Panel is not eligible to participate in the contest.
  • The Judging Panel reserves the right to disqualify any photo that does not meet the submission criteria or has insufficient quality.
  • Entry is limited to original works that have not been formerly displayed or exhibited and for which the contestant holds all applicable rights.
  • PERDAMI is not responsible for intellectual property infringement that might have resulted from the submission of photos.
  • The contestant must certify and warrant that the submitted photo(s) do(es) not violate the copyrights or other rights of any third party.
  • The contestant must not identify the patient(s) of whom the photos were taken.
  • No identification of the patient(s) is to be displayed on the photo(s).
  • All decisions made by the Judging Panel are final.
  1. AUTHORIZATION
  • Contestants retain copyright of their work.
  • By submitting their photos to the PERDAMI Photo Contest, contestants agree to grant PERDAMI free of charge the right to use the photo(s) in any manner and media, including, without limitation, the right to publish, adapt, distribute, copy, display or translate in printed or electronic media even if they are not the winning entries.
  •  PERDAMI agrees to acknowledge the contestants when their photo(s) is/are used in any manner and media or related materials

  1. THE JUDGING CRITERIA
  • Innovative means of delivering sense of ophthalmology (40%)
  • Themes related (15%)
  • Uniqueness of concept (15%)
  • Creativity and overall artistic impression (15%)
  • Visual appeal or aesthetics (15%)
  • For Favourite Winner will be judge by most likes on Instagram (@pitperdamijogja2020)
  1. THE JUDGING AND AWARD PRESENTATION
  • Winners
    • A total of 20 photos across all categories will be selected by the Judging Panel, without identification of contestants’ names, affiliations, and countries. These 20 photos, without identification of the contestants, will be exhibited in a photo gallery near the Poster Zone of the 45th PIT PERDAMI for final voting by the Judging Panel.
    • The 3 photos (one photo in each categories) receiving the most votes will be the champion.
    • PERDAMI reserves the right to print and exhibit all the photos in the same size in the gallery. Locations of the photos displayed will be at the discretion of the PERDAMI.
    • The awards will be presented during the 45th PIT PERDAMI welcoming party on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 7 pm.
  • Favourite Winner
    • 1 Photo receiving most likes on Instagram (@pitperdamijogja2020) will be the favourite winner.
    •  The awards will be presented during the 45th PIT PERDAMI Welcoming Party on the evening (7 p.m.) of Thursday, September 24, 2020.
